Dr Gordana Milavic

M.D., F.R.C.Psych

Clinical Director | Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Gordana Milavic is the Clinical Director of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at SLaM, as well as a consultant psychiatrist with the CAMHS Mood Disorder Service. Dr Milavic is also Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Other roles

Dr Milavic is a teacher of undergraduate and postgraduate students and junior doctors. She is also regularly invited to teach on the topic of depression and bipolar disorders, bridging the gap between research and clinical practice.

Background

She has over 30 years of psychiatric experience working in the NHS and has, for much of that time, been at the forefront of child and adolescent service developments in south east London.

Research

Her interest in mood disorders in children and adolescents stems from her clinical experience of working with children and young people who present with complex co-morbid conditions, self-harming behaviour and psychosis. Together with her colleagues, she is involved in a number of research projects looking at the phenomenology and treatment of mood disorders.
