Our service provides specialist assessment and treatment for women requiring psychiatric intensive care, who are unable to be cared for on an open ward or in the community. We aim to reduce the risk to self and others in a supportive and therapeutic environment. We also provide short stay intensive assessment and treatment for people with an acute mental disorder who have been referred from other inpatient services.

We offer a separate, designated place of safety, where women who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act can be admitted, assessed and cared for.
