Overview

We provide assessment, consultation, advice, support and counselling for young people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, who have emotional and behavioural problems.

Our team strives to facilitate improvements in intellectual, emotional, behavioural, social, linguistic and other areas of psychological functioning and psychiatric disorders.

We aim to maximise communication between our service, the families we help, and all other support agencies involved including primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare, education, social services and the voluntary or private sector.

Developmental Neuropsychiatry and Neuropsychology Service (DNN)

The Acquired Brain Injury Service is a stream of our CAMHS DNN Service. The DNN sees young people who have, or might have, neurodevelopmental disorders like autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or learning disability with additional mental health or behaviour problems, as well as young people with psychological problems associated with head injury, physical disability or genetic conditions. Our teams work together and refer between services as necessary. The DNN includes the following service streams:
