Dr Jessica Richardson

Senior Clinical Psychologist and Team Manager

Dr. Jessica Richardson is a Clinical Psychologist and the Team Lead for the Anxiety & Traumatic Stress Clinic at the Maudsley Hospital.


She is an accredited Practitioner, Supervisor and Trainer for the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She specialises in working with young people with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Jessica also has a clinical and research interest in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and is part of a national team developing this group approach for young people with anxiety and depression. Jessica regularly facilities groups for young people and their parents using an MBCT approach. Jessica has co-authored a number of MindEd online resources about anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and school refusal. Jessica has an additional role as the Co-Director at Kings College London for CYP IAPT (Children and Young People’s Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies). In this role Jess co-leads the multi-modality training course at KCL (currently 100 students each year) and teaches therapists from around London on the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In addition Jessica leads the Supervisor Course, which supports supervisors to transform their services to become more client-centred, providing more evidence based therapies and using outcome measures to demonstrate their effectiveness.
