Judith’s story

A couple of months after she’d been in the Psychosis Unit we were standing on a railway station platform, and in a quiet moment she began to sing to herself. It was lovely because that was something I hadn’t heard her do since she’d been ill.

My son had life-threatening congenital heart disease when he was young, so he was in the hospital under palliative care and going through lots of surgery. The experiences led him to be quite anxious – it led us all to be quite anxious, actually. The corrective surgery worked, which brought us so many hopes and joys as a family, but there were symptoms.
